Remote & Field Interview Podcast
ClientNever Not CreativeDate2025AuthorEvan DesaulnierShare
A scrappy, upstart series that punches above its weight class. Blending studio and field recordings, NNC takes a flexible approach to format—shifting between interviews and co-hosted deep dives. Each episode explores the messy middle of creative work, focusing on the emotional and psychological hurdles that come with making things for a living.

A Minimal Refresh for the Opening Sequence

The NNC podcast began like many others—self-produced, with a DIY spirit and a growing identity. When it came time for a visual refresh, the goal wasn’t to reinvent, but to build on what was already there. We created a new video intro and title card animation that stayed true to the brand’s minimal aesthetic, pairing it with music that felt like a natural extension of their existing sound.

Adapting the Format to Fit the Story

From remote interviews to one-on-one conversations and spontaneous, on-location shoots, this podcast adapts to wherever the story takes it. We developed a post-production approach that’s just as flexible—tailored to fit different recording setups while maintaining a consistent look, feel, and sound.

This gives the client room to move: capturing content across formats and environments without compromising on brand or quality.

Remote interview: A multicam setup brings together both co-hosts and guest Lubalin—an internet-famous musician known for his viral videos—in a polished, high-quality remote conversation.

On-location setup: When the host and designer James Martin crossed paths at a conference, we kept it simple: an iPhone and two lav mics, recorded from a hotel bed. The gear was minimal, but we advised on mic placement and graded the Apple Log footage to get the most out of what we had—a DIY setup that still held its own.

Adaptive Social Media Clips

We created vertical video clips to spotlight key interview moments and draw viewers toward the full episodes. Since the podcast’s structure shifts from one show to the next, each clip layout needed to adapt—whether it’s a guest interview, a two-host discussion, or something in between.

Each clip includes a custom title, description, and hashtags to boost visibility in social feeds and point viewers directly to the full episode. And at the end of each one, an animated episode title card reinforces the show’s branding—a small but consistent win for visibility and recognition.
